Unique Wedding Planning Tips Saturday, Jan 15 2011

Everybody wants to incorporate a unique tradition or ceremony into their wedding to make it a little extra-special. Actually, there are dozens of creative and inspiring ideas that are both traditional and non-traditional that will compliment your theme and your personalities.

Here are a few suggestions that would add a wonderful touch to your wedding celebration:

1) Incorporate some European tradition into your wedding by circling the altar together three times before proceeding back up the aisle for the recessional.

2) Instead of having each bridesmaid’s bouquet look the same, choose a particular flower for each bridesmaid that best suits their personality. If you want to take it a step further, change the groomsmen’s tie or button to match their personalities.

3) Bring in a little of “Mexico” by asking the guests to form a “circle” around the bride and groom in the shape of a heart. The bridal couple will then dance their first dance within the heart as a symbol of romance!

4) Bring a little Romanian tradition into your wedding by having traditional musicians (Lautari), sing, dance, tell stories, perform magic tricks and more!

As always, the bride and groom can incorporate the:

  • Unity Sand Ceremony
  • Love Letter Ceremony

Where will Prince William Honeymoon? Thursday, Dec 23 2010

Featured on PEOPLE, it has just been revealed that brokers are now placing bets on the wedding details (and even HONEYMOON DETAILS) of Prince William! Let’s take a look at what they have to say!

Westminster Abbey is the 8-to-11 favorite for wedding location, followed by St. Paul’s Cathedral (even odds) and St. George’s Chapel in Windsor (20-to-1). Any brave souls betting on Vegas face pretty steep (though probably actually generous) odds of 1000-to-1.

July is favored to be the month of the wedding (even odds), followed by August (5-to-4), June (8-to-1) and May (10-to-1).

And as for the honeymoon, Kenya (where William proposed) leads the pack at 5-to-1, followed by Scotland (8-to-1) and Wales (16-to-1). The Maldives, Australia and New Zealand are next, each at 20-to-1.

Butlin’s, the popular chain of family holiday camps in the U.K., was deemed a 1000-to-1 underdog to host the royal honeymoon.

Whether these guesses are right or wrong, the population sure is having a ball speculating about the Prince’s upcoming wedding and honeymoon!

Creative Honeymoon Planning Saturday, Dec 18 2010

One of the most exciting aspects of planning a wedding is deciding where to go for your honeymoon. If you’re an adventurous type, you might not exactly be thrilled by the idea of laying on the beach with a cocktail. Here are some unique, fun honeymoon ideas that might be right up your alley.

Historic Tour -  If you enjoy knowledge and want to quench your thirst for more, make sure that you honeymoon destination includes historic tours, museums and other fun artifacts. Look into destinations from the American Revolution. Visit to India and visit the places that made an impact in Gandhi’s life. You can even go on a biblical history tour and bring the stories from the Bible to life. You will learn new things as well as spend quality time with your new spouse.

Lighthouse Expedition -  Lighthouses were once necessary guides to navigation, usually found along beautiful shores to provide assistance to incoming ships. But due to the arrival of more sophisticated technology, they have become just about obsolete. These structures are still good for a purpose though. Lighthouses are really romantic and isolated places, they’re even settings for two romantic stories and these make them the perfect setting for a honeymoon.

Holiday Tour -  Holiday tours are fun if you and your new spouse are an adventurous couple. Check out the annual world Cherry Blossom holiday in Macon, Georgia. There you will find hundreds of thousands of cherry blossom trees, a romantic and beautiful experience. The Cannes Film holiday is also a brilliant idea to try out if you are a film-loving couple. This event is held in the dreamy city of Cannes which is in southern France, home to some of the most romantic destinations in the world.

You honeymoon should be spend with the love of your life, whether you are climbing a mountain, relaxing on the beach or riding rides ad the famous Disney World. Select something that you both enjoy and live life to the fullest!
